The European Space Agency released the first image taken from the surface of a comet, and said that the Philae lander is still “stable” despite a failure to latch on properly to the rocky terrain.

Rosetta spacecraft's Philae lander is approaching a comet this morning for a historic landing that could yield new insights about the origins of the universe.

Scientists at the European Space Agency and NASA are watching closely to see if they can make history with the unmanned vessel, which is set to touch down on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko this morning after a 10-year, 4 billion-mile journey.

The spacecraft is scheduled to land at 8:30 a.m. ET, and by 11 a.m. ET, scientists will know if it hit its target and is functioning.

Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung's fastest-charging device, gets a U.S. debut date

Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge, the strange-looking device with a curved edge screen that wraps around the phone's right side, is set to debut in the United States on Nov. 14.
The "Edge" part of the name refers to that smaller curved display, which is almost of completely different screen. The main display works like any other smartphone's, but the thin edge has its own functions, menus and icons.
With the extra strip display —a feature unique to the device — you can also get notifications and access your email, apps and more without interrupting any actions on the main screen. You can also use a stopwatch and ruler.

The two companies announced a new security-focused partnership Thursday that will bring BlackBerry's encryption system to businesses using Samsung's Galaxy smartphones.
